Mayor of Greater Manchester Andy Burnham says ‘it should be decided locally’ if schools open on Monday morning.
Going against what Boris Johnson told Andrew Marr, he said local councils should have the power to set their own start dates for primary schools.
‘I think it should be decided locally. I put that to the government today,’ he said.
