Lipkin’s Email to Fauci – China’s Influence on U.S. Universities
July 01, 2021
Walter Ian Lipkin, a professor of epidemiology at Columbia University, who is known as a “virus hunter,” thanked Fauci last year for publicly dismissing notions that the virus could have originated and leaked from the Wuhan lab.
This was part of 3200 pages of Fauci’s email correspondence requested and made it public through a Freedom of Information Act request.
“We deeply appreciate your efforts in steering and messaging,” Lipkin wrote to Fauci on May 5, 2020, a day after he cast doubt on the lab leak theory. As part of this email, Lipkin forwarded an email from Chen Zhu, China’s former Minister of Health and president of the Chinese Academy of Science. Chen is currently a vice-chairperson of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress of China and president of the Red Cross Society of China.
Lipkin has a deep tie with China since the outbreak of SARS in 2003. He is also the medical director of the movie, Contagion. In 2016, the Chinese government presented Lipkin with the International Science and Technology Cooperation Award, the country’s highest honor to foreign scientists.
He visited China in early January 2020 at the beginning of the pandemic, earlier than the WHO. After his return from China, in an interview, he was promoting the natural origin theory from the wildlife market. The theory has now been trashed.
It is obvious, Lipkin helped the CCP’s cover-up for the CCP pandemic and CCP’s misinformation campaign to the medical and scientific communities. This is just the tip of the iceberg on CCP’s infiltration of U.S. academia.
