According to a story by Zero Hedge on September 5th 2021, the idea of the increase in our food prices is not a temporary situation, but indeed prices are set to rise due to the inflated prices of raw materials, such as sugar, cereal and vegetable oil. The sharp increase in the price of sugar is mainly due to the catastrophic weather conditions that have severely damaged the sugar crops in Brazil. Other obvious food price drivers are inflation and the massive effect that the CCP virus has had on labour shortages throughout the world.
