Tax-Payer funded PBS Will Feature Vanessa Williams Singing ‘Black’ National Anthem During Their Independence Day Celebration In Furtherance Of Dividing The Nation

Beautiful woman, beautiful voice and a lovely actress as well. But this decision lacks any love or beauty. Divisive. #PartOfTheProblem

Vanessa Williams will be hosting PBS’ Independence Day celebration, but the singer/actress will not be singing the National Anthem, as one might expect. As the nation celebrates Independence Day, Ms. Williams will instead sing Lift Every Voice also known as the “Black National Anthem” during the far left PBS’ 41st annual “A Capitol Fourth” celebration.  Why celebrate the independence of all Americans on the American holiday, when you can further divide the nation and build animosity between its citizens. So much for Biden’s faux cries for unity.

While commemorating the end of slavery is laudable, there is now an official holiday in recognition of that important time in history when the Grand Old Party (Republicans) defeated the Democrats and freed Africans held as slaves. It’s called Juneteenth, and we celebrated it in mid-June. According to Ms. Williams, she will be singing the “Black” national anthem on America’s Independence Day “in celebration of the wonderful opportunity that we now have to celebrate Juneteenth. So we are reflective of the times.”

Juneteenth, which commemorates the end of slavery in the U.S., marks the day in 1865 when news of the Emancipation Proclamation reached Texas.

From History.com:

The Fourth of July—also known as Independence Day or July 4th—has been a federal holiday in the United States since 1941, but the tradition of Independence Day celebrations goes back to the 18th century and the American Revolution. On July 2nd, 1776, the Continental Congress voted in favor of independence, and two days later delegates from the 13 colonies adopted the Declaration of Independence, a historic document drafted by Thomas Jefferson. From 1776 to the present day, July 4th has been celebrated as the birth of American independence, with festivities ranging from fireworks, parades and concerts to more casual family gatherings and barbecues.

Twitter users are not fooled by PBS’ divisive maneuver,

Black national anthem? Will you also be singing a white national anthem? Do you not see how divisive this is?

Independence day in America celebrates the independence of ALL Americans. After all, it is the American people that fund the hapless station with their tax dollars. But PBS is not concerned with promoting anything that binds all Americans together in celebration and good cheer.
