‘View’ Brings on 2016 Election Conspiracist Hillary Clinton to Trash Trump over 2020 Election

Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton was warmly welcomed to plug her new book and talk politics on ABC this morning. While on morning talkshow The View, the twice-failed presidential candidate was invited to trash former President Trump over and over again for sowing doubt in the 2020 election results. But no one seemed to be bothered by the idea that Clinton spent years calling her 2016 opponent an illegitimate president who unfairly won.

Co-host Sara Haines started out worrying that Trump’s attempts to “delegitimize President Biden’s win,” caused the “insurrection on January 6.” She asked Clinton to determine “how close” we were to a constitutional crisis:

Okay, Secretary, we know from a new Senate report that Trump directly and repeatedly tried to pressure leaders at the DOJ to overturn his election loss based on election fraud lies, those attempts to delegitimized President Biden’s win, sowed enough doubt to cause the insurrection on January 6th. So how close do you think we came to a full constitutional crisis? And how accountable do you think President Trump should be for that?

Clinton was only too happy to hypocritically warn of the “very dangerous, continuing high-level attack on the legitimacy of our government and the election of our president,” and trash her former opponent and the GOP for “sowing doubt about the election and undermining democracy:”

Obviously, our former president is not only behind it he incited it, he encouraged it and he continues to do so. And you have leaders of the Republican party who have willingly gone along as though they’re members of the cult, not a political party but a cult. And their continuing attacks on the election, their refusal to say, you know what, we’ve counted these votes, it’s over, we’re going to move on has sown so much doubt, and then you combine it with disinformation network known as Facebook and you got a volatile mix. We’re still in the midst of a concerted, well-funded effort to undermine American democracy.

Guest co-host Sherri Shepherd also focused on Trump. She was distraught over what it revealed about the country that Trump still had high support among Republicans:

“[I]n a CNN/SSRS poll, found that 63 percent of Republicans and Republican-leaning Independents believe that Trump should lead the party, so, if they’re saying 63% what does say about the entire state of our nation?” she asked.

Sunny Hostin also alluded to the unfairness of the 2016 election with her question about the Facebook “whistleblower.”

[L]ast week the Facebook whistle-blower testified to the Senate that the company is morally bankrupt for consistently choosing profits over the public good and for spreading misinformation that stoked division in our country. We saw this play out when you ran for president and it seems that things have only gotten worse, Facebook of course denies these allegations, but should tech companies be held responsible for any of the damage that they’ve done?

While there was a lot of talk about Trump, the hosts didn’t ask Clinton about Biden. The closest it came to was when Joy Behar whined to Clinton about moderate Democrats Joe Manchin and Kyrsten Sinema derailing his spending agendas.

Later, the hosts brought on the co-author of the political thriller they wrote together. “It breaks my heart that you’re not president,” Behar confided before sympathizing with Clinton about the “sexism” she faced regarding her appearance as a female politician.

It should come as no surprise but the Democrat always gets the warm and fuzzy treatment from the hosts of The View. Leading up to today’s interview on a September 22 show, Joy Behar whined that Hillary was the “real victim,” not the women who accused her husband of rape.

On the show in 2019, Clinton complained to the sympathetic hosts that Trump was an “illegitimately” elected president, and that she had lost the election due to voter suppression, hacking and theft.

ABC News isn’t any better. In March of 2020 on Good Morning America, correspondent Linsey Davis shamelessly affirmed Clinton’s delusions that she “actually” won the 2016 election.

WHOOPI GOLDBERG: Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton is a pioneer for women in politics, has lived through stuff that you just can’t make up, and that vast experience serves her well as co-author of the new thriller “State of terror.” We’re thrilled to welcome back, one of our favorite people here on “The view,” Hillary Clinton. ♪♪ [ cheers and applause ] ♪♪ [ cheers and applause ]

SARA HAINES: Okay, Secretary, we know from a new senate report that Trump directly and repeatedly tried to pressure leaders at the DOJ to overturn his election loss based on election fraud lies, those attempts to delegitimized President Biden’s win sowed enough doubt to cause the insurrection on January 6th. So how close do you think we came to a full constitutional crisis? And how accountable do you think President Trump should be for that?

CLINTON:I think we not only came close to a full constitutional crisis, I think we’re still in it. And that gives me absolutely no satisfaction in saying this, because I think we’re at a very dangerous, continuing high-level attack on the legitimacy of our government and the election of our president.

SHERRI SHEPHERD:  Now Senator Clinton, Nikki Haley is considering a run for president in 2024. Surprisingly she said Republicans still need Trump in their party. She’s not alone in that because in a CNN/SSRS poll, found that 63 percent of Republicans and Republican-leaning Independents believe that Trump should lead the party, so, if they’re saying 63% what does say about the entire state of our nation?

SUNNY HOSTIN: Madame Secretary, you mentioned Facebook and the misinformation campaign, last week the Facebook whistle-blower testified to the Senate that the company is morally bankrupt for consistently choosing profits over the public good and for spreading misinformation that stoked division in our country. We saw this play out when you ran for president and it seems that things have only gotten worse, Facebook of course denies these allegations, but should tech companies be held responsible for any of the damage that they’ve done?

JOY BEHAR: Because President Biden’s build back better agenda is on the ropes, in part because of senators Sinema and Manchin. So, what’s going to happen? What’s going to happen there? Are they getting onboard or not? Are they going to save the country? Bernie Sanders is like, listen, why does the will of the people get held up when the majority want it?
